Coles becomes the first retail tenant to open its doors at Lachlan’s Square Village, part of Greenland Australia’s ‘nbh at Lachlan’s Line’ precinct in Macquarie Park
Leading property developer Greenland Australia has today announced the grand opening of the first retail offering in its ‘nbh at Lachlan’s Line’ (nbh) development in Macquarie Park, with the launch of anchor supermarket tenant Coles in the project’s Lachlan’s Square Village precinct.
The 2,736sqm supermarket, which includes an in-store bakery, large gourmet deli and market-style fresh produce area, as well as a 136sqm Liquorland outlet, will operate from 7am to 10pm daily.
The new Coles will serve a trade area population of over 19,000 people, including an immediate resident population of more than 1,200 at nbh, which sits directly above Lachlan’s Square Village.
The opening precedes a multitude of other retail launches in the 5,000sqm Lachlan’s Square Village, with numerous retail services, cafés, and restaurants expected to commence trading before the end of the year, as well as a medical centre, pharmacy, and a gym.
The Coles opening caps a busy period at Greenland Australia’s nbh project, with the landmark north-west Sydney masterplanned community welcoming its first residents in December 2019, and the bulk of apartment owners taking up residence in early 2020.
In all, nbh comprises 592 apartments across six contemporary apartment towers – Nexus, Habitat, Hideaway, House, Home and Hearth – which range in height from 2 to 17 storeys.
The project is situated in a growing corridor in one of Sydney’s fastest-growing suburbs, conveniently adjacent to the Macquarie Park business precinct, which is predicted to become NSW’s second-largest economy in the coming years.
According to Greenland Australia’s Managing Director, Sherwood Luo, the nbh project is the culmination of a long-term investment in north-west Sydney.
“It’s so satisfying seeing this project come to fruition and to see Greenland Australia making such a strong contribution to north-west Sydney’s future housing supply with nearly 600 brand new one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments,” said Mr Luo.
“This amazing precinct, which sits above a retail village headlined by Coles, and which is extremely well connected by two train stations on the Sydney Metro North West, has very quickly become a lively, active and self-sustaining community.”
In addition, Mr Luo flagged June’s opening of Landcom’s $40 million Lachlan’s Line pedestrian cycleway bridge as another positive for the nbh community.
“On top of all the lifestyle benefits nbh residents are already enjoying, they now have direct foot and bicycle access to North Ryde Metro station via the Lachlan’s Line bridge,” he said.
“Apart from providing a direct link across the busy M2 and Delhi Road corridor from North Ryde Metro to the doorstep of nbh, the bridge is a significant contributor to the urban landscape courtesy of its unique and artistic helix design.
“Another positive is that the bridge opens up even more opportunities for nbh residents to enjoy an active lifestyle in the neighbouring Lane Cove National Park.”
Meanwhile, a 1,225sqm community centre is set to open at nbh this year with the facility operated by the City of Ryde Council, offering a hub for events, kids’ activities and social gatherings.
