You’re in for a big surprise at Leichhardt Green, Leichhardt

If you go down to Leichhardt today you’re in for a big surprise. Despite Sydney recording its wettest February since 2010, and the delays this caused all construction sites, Leichhardt Green is progressing well with three of the five buildings now at the fit-out stage.

Steel studwork has been erected, wiring and plumbing installed, wall linings are being fixed in place and tiles beginning to be laid on apartment balcony areas. Interior painting has even started. It’s already possible to picture what it will be like to live there.

Kitchens and bathrooms will go in next, making the current ‘rough diamonds’ look more like the modern apartments they are fast becoming. Bates Smart have created a unique environment, with all five buildings connected by pedestrian walkways, and expansive landscaped grounds.

More than half the 1-hectare site will be green space, creating a sense of tranquility and a place where residents will be able to relax with family and friends – or enjoy a few laps in the pool. The target date for practical completion of the overall project remains early 2018.
