Retailers sought for one of Sydney’s largest urban renewal projects… Park Sydney

Sydney, 3 September 2018 – Greenland Golden Horse, a joint venture between Greenland Australia and GH Australia, is seeking retailers for Stage 1 of its mixed-use residential development ‘Park Sydney’, in Erskineville, in Sydney’s inner-west.

Park Sydney will offer 10,000sqm of retail amenity, including a 4,000sqm full-range supermarket, 1,000sqm of specialty and everyday convenience shops, 1,200sqm of food and beverage dining experiences, a 2,200sqm fresh food market, as well as a childcare and medical centre. The site will also offer secure underground retail parking and fully weather protected alfresco outdoor dining spaces overlooking the adjacent 7,450 sqm parkland.

Park Sydney Shopping Village will provide everyday needs shopping experiences to an existing 26,000 resident population in the immediate vicinity and will ultimately serve more than 35,000 residents in the gentrified main trade area by 2026.

The construction DA for Stage 1, approved by the City of Sydney in February 2018, includes approximately 330 apartments across two buildings. The retail offering, slated for completion in 2020, will be positioned directly adjacent to the publicly-accessible central park.

Greenland Golden Horse is now seeking operators for a mini-major supermarket of approximately 2,000sqm, the medical centre and childcare centre, food and beverage operators and other general retailers requiring spaces from 80-100sqm. Other spaces from 100sqm will offer alfresco dining with views overlooking the central park.

Greenland Australia’s Managing Director, Sherwood Luo, said the vibrant retail mix of Park Sydney makes it a unique integrated community project.

“We are very aware that the delivery of a vibrant urban village will be integral to the inclusive and engaging community we are focused on delivering for Park Sydney,” said Mr Luo.

“We are keen to secure retailers who can cater to the affluent market of residents living in the gentrified Ashmore Estate precinct, whilst reflecting the unique character of Erskineville.

“Our vision is to deliver a lifestyle precinct that has a strong local heart, a place for locals to interact with each other and celebrate the diversity, creativity and individuality that currently defines the area. This includes quirky retail that speaks to the local community, including local artists and creatives. We want a rich and layered retail offering.”

Encompassing 6.9 hectares, Park Sydney’s master planned residential community will be one of the largest urban renewal projects in Sydney and will ultimately feature nine development blocks ranging in height from two to eight storeys.

The masterplan Development Application (DA) approved on 3 March 2017 is expected to result in approximately 1,400 apartments built over five stages, centred around a 7,446sqm public park, called McPherson Park.
