Lucent shortlisted for 2017 UDIA NSW Awards for Excellence

18 July, 2017

Lucent at 225 Pacific Highway, North Sydney, was Greenland Australia’s first completed apartment building to settle when it did so in August-September 2016. Now the 211-apartment project, designed by Turner, has been shortlisted for the 2017 Urban Development Institute of Australia NSW Crown Group Awards for Excellence in the High-Density Development category.

Managing Director of Greenland Australia, Sherwood Luo, says of the award shortlisting, “Looking back on this project, a clear vision, superior design and a great deal of careful planning by the team laid the foundation for its success. “Lucent took its name from the luminosity of the building materials used in different light conditions, and the lights being visible after dark. Our satisfied purchasers combined with industry recognition like that of the Urban Taskforce points to a bright future indeed.”

Director at Turner Kevin Driver says of the shortlisting, “It’s gratifying to see that the judging panel rated Lucent so highly under their various award criteria that include commercial success, community benefits, environment, innovation, lifecycle planning, problem solving, and urban design and architectural merit.”

The 17-level Lucent tower offered properties ranging from $528,000 for studios to $1.75 million for three-bedroom apartments when sales began in late 2014. Half of the two-bedroom apartments, which boast views of Sydney Harbour, were bought by owner-occupiers.

Built on a tight 1,538 square metre site, Lucent is an apartment community that embraces the creative energy of North Sydney, one of Sydney’s most upcoming residential areas. Its more distinctive features include:
• A rooftop garden and ‘living wall’ for residents to enjoy on Level 15
• An infinity-edged lap pool overlooking Sydney Harbour
• A communal function room and BBQ area on Level 15.

Lucent is close to some of Sydney’s finest cafes, bars, restaurants, shops, parklands and schools. Just minutes from transport, the apartments are also near the village-like neighbourhoods of Lavender Bay, Kirribilli and McMahon’s Point. The quality build was done by Richard Crookes Constructions.
