Greenland Australia announces Coles as anchor tenant at Macquarie Park development nbh

Sydney, 3 September 2019 – Greenland Australia has confirmed Coles as the anchor supermarket tenant at its masterplanned community in the north-west Sydney suburb of Macquarie Park, ‘nbh at Lachlan’s Line’.

Coles will be a major drawcard in the new 5,000sqm Lachlan’s Square Village, which features a retail High Street, outdoor dining and restaurants, plus a range of health, fitness and service providers.

Lachlan’s Square will also feature a medical and wellness centre, a gym, a community centre, day care facilities, a children’s playground and a public amphitheatre.

With construction set to commence next month, Coles will occupy the ground level underneath the Habitat, Hideaway and Hearth buildings at nbh, three of the four buildings in Stage One of the development, along with the prominent Nexus building located on the corner of Epping Road and Delhi Road.

Due for completion at the end of the year, the four buildings, which rise up to 17 storeys, will comprise 592 apartments.

The 2,736sqm Coles supermarket at nbh will service the development’s residents and the wider Macquarie Park community, trading from 7am to 9pm daily and providing everyday shopping convenience for a trade area population of over 19,000 people, which comprises a high proportion of young singles and couples.

Coles’ footprint will also incorporate a 136sqm Liquorland outlet, offering a range of popular wines, beers and spirits.

Underground car parking is available for up to 180 vehicles directly below the supermarket, situated off Halifax Street.

Coles State General Manager Emma Bridges said Coles is delighted to open a new supermarket in Macquarie Park as part of its commitment to the growing north-west region of Sydney.

“Lachlan’s Square Village will be an outstanding retail hub offering local residents an enhanced shopping experience and a one-stop-shop for everyday needs,” she said.

“As part of a multimillion-dollar investment in a brand new state-of-the art Coles supermarket, the store will create around 100 new retail jobs and will include an in-store bakery, open-style meat counter with a qualified butcher, large gourmet deli and fresh produce area, and an adjacent Liquorland.

“We’re committed to the growing community in Sydney’s north-west, and we’re pleased to create ongoing local employment opportunities with nearly 200 new jobs also created at our recently opened stores in North Rocks and Crows Nest.”

Greenland Australia’s Managing Director, Sherwood Luo, said Coles will be the ideal partner to help deliver on the promise of a vibrant urban village at ‘nbh’.

“Coles at nbh will provide the people of north-west Sydney with a new, conveniently-located supermarket option, while the future residents of nbh will enjoy the benefits of a community that is integrated with a wide variety of retail options,” he explained.

“Coles will introduce a shopping experience that will appeal to all segments of the community, including CBD commuters looking for quick and healthy food choices, as well as families doing their weekly grocery shop.”

nbh at Lachlan’s Line is expected to be completed in December 2019, with prices starting at $630,000 for a 1-bedroom apartment.
