Construction of Omnia at Potts Point set to start

Sydney, 1 March 2017

Greenland Australia today signed a design and construction contract with Australian tier-one contractor Probuild to deliver its $300 million prestige mixed-use project, Omnia in Potts Point. Partial demolition of the former Crest Hotel onsite ended in December 2016.

Located on the iconic intersection of Darlinghurst Road and Victoria Street, Potts Point, Omnia will include 135 high-end apartments, of which a few still remain for sale.

Probuild was recently engaged by Greenland Australia in December 2016 to bring home Sydney’s tallest apartment tower, the 235-metre Greenland Centre on Bathurst Street.

Omnia will eventually be home to around 250 residents who will enjoy the convenience of having Woolworths and other specialty retailers inside their building. The site is also perfectly situated near high-density Darlinghurst and is only a short walk from Kings Cross Railway Station which the building sits above.

Greenland Australia Managing Director Sherwood Luo said Potts Point offers the ultimate East Sydney lifestyle. It’s centrally located on the city fringe so it maintains that sophisticated urban inner city atmosphere.

“With Omnia’s unique design and prime corner position it’s bound to become a real focal point in the area, and the distinctive building will become the gateway of Sydney’s eastern suburbs. Luxury will soon have a new address, with construction set to start shortly.

“It’s great to have Probuild on board again with this landmark project. It’s a challenging job, but our project teams will successfully manage this together,” Mr Luo said.

The Managing Director of Probuild NSW Arthur Williams said the relationship between Probuild and Greenland Australia is strong, and based on open dialogue and a focus on excellence.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Greenland on a second project together. This significant build will add to Probuild’s growing number of high-profile projects in NSW,” Mr Williams said.

Omnia will feature an elegant hour-glass façade, making a dramatic architectural statement on the prominent corner site.

Along with the high-end luxury apartments, the 19-storey building will also comprise two levels of high-end retail and a proposed top-tier restaurant – further adding to the prestige nature of the new offering. The Woolworths store will take the entire second storey with other smaller retail options on the third floor of the complex.

Omnia is set to be one of the most exclusive inner-city addresses in Sydney with the project incorporating quality amenity and design with world-leading architectural design, immaculate interiors and communal facilities including a landscaped outdoor BBQ area, community garden and residents’ private wine room and lounge.

Interested buyers can still purchase one of the beautifully appointed apartments in Omnia Potts Point with a limited number of one, two and three-bedroom apartments remaining priced from $730,000 (a studio apartment). Enquire now by calling Greenland Australia’s sales team on 1800 388 788.
