Digging deep at nbh at Lachlan’s Line

Early works have now commenced at Greenland Australia’s nbh development at Lachlan’s Line, with the largest of two sites at the highly anticipated Macquarie Park precinct now taking shape in the form of site hoarding, a construction compound and ‘benching’ earthworks.

The construction of remaining site infrastructure, six residential buildings, landscaping and other development components will be carried out by Greenland’s chosen builder (TBA) after earthworks and perimeter piling are completed by the principal earthworks contractor.

Greenland Australia Managing Director, Sherwood Luo, says: “The ‘live upstairs and shop downstairs’ vision we’ve talked about for months is now slowly becoming reality. Upwards of 4,000 cubic metres of dirt is being removed each day to make way for underground parking levels. With each truckload, we get that much closer to building the 879 new residences, all-new retail precinct and entertainment quarter, Lachlan’s Square, that will form Macquarie Park’s newest and best neighbourhood.”

Greenland Australia procured its two sites at the highest point of Lachlan’s Line, totalling 1.53-hectares, to build the mixed-residential development (Lots 104 and 105). Greenland is developing the first two lots within Lachlan’s Line. The site is 250 metres from North Ryde Train Station with direct access to Epping, Chatswood, North Sydney, City and Parramatta train station, and 1.2-km or 10 minutes’ walk to Macquarie Park Train Station and bus interchange.

nbh’s ‘High Street’ will include a large anchor supermarket, health and fitness club, the precinct’s medical centre and childcare centre, along with its ‘Eat Street’. A secondary square called ‘Laura’s Place’ will be more intimate and is proposed to hold cafes and restaurants with alfresco dining. It will overlook the precinct’s 3000sqm Central Park and will have a major through-flow of foot traffic from Lachlan’s Line.
